yeah you bring up a good point travis..
but then I would have to disagree with you about the applicability.. if you can play super fast single strokes, of course you're not going to use them directly in music.. but what I'm saying is that with those chops everything else will be easier and you'll be able to apply your quickness in other areas like playing fast really softly in dynamics. Overall, it'll help you to flow better around the kit better and everything will be so much easier. It's not just for show and tell really and I think it is useful even if it's in more subtle ways when playing with a band or something
