Re: Mapex drums review

I'm pretty sure Cris Adlers snare is metal, but the 12" cat is a very nice funk snare.

I personally am looking to buy a pro-m as soon as I can get the cash together. The shells are quite thin, by comparison, which makes for a less focussed sound, but I'm sure I can cancell this out with a good head purchase and tuning.

The great thing is the selection you get for the price. Eg. I'm gonna get a 15" floor tom to use next to my 16". No other company would offer a 15" in this price range and I'm not quite happy with the limited depth of my 14".

Thin maple shells make for big volume. That's why I'm chiefly looking at the pro-m. Maple sound, mahogany price.

And finish selection is awesome, just check out the website. DRUMS--MAPEX DRUMS
