non-drumming producer / engineer!

No, I'm not a drummer, but a recording engineer and producer.
I have worked over the years with a bunch of guys I consider pretty good.
The one left standing from that bunch is Aynsley Dunbar, who has been my first call drummer for many years.
I do have specific taste when it comes to recording drums.
