JJ has some good questions... The answer to your kick drum woes is....EVANS EMAD and maybe a small towel rolled up against the resonant (LOGO) head. Taking time and tuning your drums properly makes a big difference. Check out articles and info on the web like "Drum tuning Bible" They have some helpful hints on tuning different components of your kit! proper tuning technique is a skill that comes with time. There is no substitute for ear tuning a drum. There are however, "tools" like the drumdial that can help get you in the ballpark. Remember that this is only a tool IMO. Do yourself a favor and take the time to learn to tune. and..oh yeah, welcome to the loyal order of "Woodchippers"
