Yeah, they don't have much resonance. That's what I like though. You may have seen the Superstar Custom hyperdrive series. I'm interested in those too.

You can get the Superstar in a standard size. The series has just as wide a selection as any other.

I think I'll get the Superstar for now, but later on once I buy my own house and make more than $10 an hr I'll kick it up a notch to the Starclassic haha.

The Mapex M looks really nice especially with the forest green finish. little bit more than the Superstar though. I also took a harder look at the Pacific drums found a 7 piece, but it's "hybrid hardwood"....kinda made me want to steer away. Then i saw the 5 piece maple kit, but the toms are smaller than a standard set but was right around the price range i was looking at. I'll have to make a trip to guitar center and see if they have the pacific maple set in.
