The decision has been made! I ordered the 2007 Tama Superstar in Brushed Metallic Black (Shell pack). I think it looks sweet and played the kit (not the exact kit) and wow.....well worth the money
. The new Starcast system looks amazing. It only ran me $599.
It's going to take about a month to receive it, because they just came out with the updated version at the NAMM convention this past summer and have just started mass production on them. The newer versions have the new starcast system and new wrap styles other than that you still get the diecast hoops and birch shells with a basswood inner ply that came on prior models.
The only downfall is that they don't have add on toms for this set yet. I was glad to hear that they will be available in the next few months. Gives me time to save up for a nice new snare, rack, cymbals, and a replacement floor tom for my Swingstar.
