Re: What brand kit do you play and why? I play a pearl export ex circa '98. I bought it because it was the best I could afford at the time and I wasn't knowledgable about wood types and sounds.
Don't get me wrong, she is a good kit. One of her better features is the full length lugs on all drums. Even if that doesn't help keep tension off the shell, it still looks cool.
One large crappy feature is the lack of ISS on the toms. They made that standard only a few months after I bought this kit, so I felt pretty jacked off about it.
Prior to that, I played tama swingstar (good, solid kit) and a power beat four peice (everyone's gotta start somewhere).
Next purchase will something in a cheap maple. Leaning towards sonor 3007 at the mo'. |
