Rudimental Bass Drum Surprise
The drummer from the big band I'm in (I play trombone there) invited me down to a group that he has, mostly old drumcorp drummers that don't want to or can't march anymore, that gets together and works on rudimental pieces (mostly to keep their chops in shape) and they do one contest a year mostly for the trip. So I get there to play bass drum with them, and I was really surprised by how tough these rudimental bass drum parts can be. I'm pleasantly surprised and learning a lot. Going to be a while before I work my way up to snare. |
