I agree with J, if he's a beginner then I think he should get a Pearl export or something.. im not a big fan of the one sided toms and such.. it just doesn't seem natural. if he wants to practice on the road he should consider some pads.. i cant imagine using the rhytm traveler for a gig of any sort
