I currently play on a set of Sabian B8-beginner cymbals (18" ride, 13" hi-hat). What suggestions do you have for a better sounding hi-hat/ride combo for my genre of play? I would like to move up to a larger ride but am open for the size of hi-hats. I am not particularly looking for a "cymbal package", just some complimenting sounds.

Your suggestions and input are greatly appreciated,

I would think that for those Genres you would want a darker less bright) sounding cymbal Like a Zildian K Dark, or a Hand Hammered Sabian. Go to the websites of bands or drummers who play in those Genres, and check out what their drummers are using. Then try to get to a store to actually hear some in real life.
