Danmar Slam Patch!
I got a Danmar Slam Patch a while ago to make my kicks sound more metally. Have been through 2 different double pedals and I come across the same problem. When I use the plastic side of the beaters they bounce and rattle on the slam patch, instead of creating a straight THUD sound that a bass drum should make. It sounds like you were to take 2 plastic bottles and bang them together quickly. This only happens when I play certain ways. If I kick the drum and release the pedal quick enough it doesnt happen but If I kick and follow through and plant the beater in the head, it rattles.
What can I do about this? Without removing the patch. |
