Just to introduce my self, my name's Carmine (not Appice) and I have been playing since I was 6 and a 1/2. From Baltimore, and played professionally as a full time career for almost 21 years. Started off in the regular pick-up gigging circuit, migrated to the bar band/Holiday Inn circuit, and then ended up playing in traveling floor show bands for the last 15 years of my career. In '92 I got out of the business and off the road. It was getting tougher making a living so I got into computers, sequencing and recording, but more importantly, digital graphic arts and photo work. I ended up in commercial printing/prepress and design (at the beginning of the desktop publishing explosion) and also got into multimedia and film production. Rose to upper management level and became VP Digital media for our 30 million dollar printing company. Moved to the eastern shore and am now living at the beach in Delaware.
I currently work in the educational circuit doing graphic design/marketing and PR for the state of Delaware. Got back into music when my granddaughter last year came to me and asked me to teach her how to play...kinda like passing the keys to the family business off to her. I am an avid motorcycle rider (Harley) and am a safety instructor. And my latest current project taking most of my time is producing and directing a film for the state drivers education program on the importance of motorcycle awareness on the road, which will become part of the state requirement for obtaining a motor vehicle driver's license (not just a bike license).
