I have a pair of Meinl classic 14" hi hats and i find they have a nice warm sound and good for all purpose playing. IMO best suited for beginner to intermediate level drummers. Have used them at gigs and they perform well but i use them for practicing with as they are medium weight and i like heavier at gigs. Prefer my Sabian AAX stage hats for all gig work as so versatile and great sounding.
I also have a Byzance 10" splash. I played this once in the shop and bought it, it was the perfect splash (FOR ME) and fits in nicely with my othere cymbals Sabian AAX and Zildjian A. Really you have to go into the shops and try them out and read the reviews, but so far i have had no probs with the quality and sound of Meinl cymbals i own. |
