I Just Got A Set Of Vex Drums From E Bay. ($450) I Must Say That You Get More For Your Money With This Brand Than Any Other. Included Was A Very Good Throne,hi Hat With Cymbals,cymbal Stand With 18 Inch Cymbal,an Excellent Bass Pedal And 5 Sets Of Sticks (5b) I Couldn't Believe How Good The Vex Cymbals Sounded. They Won't Replace My Zildians But They Came With The Set. I Replaced The Upper Heads With Remo Pin Stripes And The Toms Sound Great. I Did The Same With The Bass Drum And Found That I Don't Need A Pillow Or Muffler At All. I Left The Snare Alone.it's 6 Inches Deep And Sounds Good. The Finish On These Drums Is Beautiful. The Good News Is That This Is A Nice Set. The Bad News ....? I Was Lead To Believe That This Company Was In Florida But When I Was Throwing Away The Cartons I Found Chinese Writing On The Bottom Of The Boxes. I Should Have Known ! And The Chrome Is Paper Thin On The Rims And Tom Holders. Some Actually Flaked Off During Assembly. Vex Threw In A Lot Of Extras With This Set But Bottom Line Is : You Get What You Pay For. I Couldn't Afford More Then $500 Dollars So This Is What I Have. I Can't Compare Them To Other Brands In The Same Price Range Since I've Never Tried Any Other Brand But My Original Slingerlands.  |
