I own an acoustic set myself, but I play bass for a group where the drummer has an electronic set, and there are a couple of advantages to the Electronic set. The most desirable advantage of the electronic set is the volume control. When playing in smaller venues or practicing at home it is nice to be able to just turn the volume knob down. The other advantage, the electronic set packs up into a smaller space, and is easier to transport.

I like the feel and sound of an acoustic set, but there are some situations where an electronic set works very well.
