Re: John Dolmayan's new kit Gotta see!!

This reminds me of the last kit Chris Leighton used with SRV that he had hand painted. they looked like a Hawaiian print. I bet the shells on these are African Mahogany like Chris's. Awesome kit though. I have an African Mahogany kit ordered in red fade from Premier, though red fade is not my choice, but what I was offered. Also why are the inside of the shells painted white? I would prefer the natural dark African Mahogany wood grain. I am thinking of having graphics done on them then having them clear-coated. I will consult experts on any changes it might make in the sound properties of the wood though. Any thoughts on this? Anyone with clear factual data on this please let me know!
Sincerely
Danny Meazell
