Re: Evans vs The Rest.... Same problem i had i was using remo(1) cheaper (2) when growing up playing in the band jr
high and high school everyone used remo.So my first kit i put Remo on them the pinstripes
went dead too quick also and it got too smooth for my taste then the head burst. So i tryed
the Other Remo ambassador heads, but i found they were not holding up on my toms, or the snare So i gave Evans a try i started out with the clear G2's because they were double ply
and not a lot of overtone. They worked great for me,Then i was talking to someone i know whos has been playing a lot longer that me he said " you like the G2'S, try the coated g2's
and now i have them on our (church) Taye kit, I must say there great.Ive been with Evans for
at least three years now and havent looked back. For the bass i enjoy that overtone ring on the Eq2 head i have a 22" bass looks like a cannon but the eq2 head works great. So try different brands, not just one type try two or three,me after two different brands of the same
name its time to try something else. Also it's a matter of what you hear in your drums what pitch, tone attack sustan you want for the type of music you play.#1 rule use your own ears
its what god gave us,no one can be a better judge than you.Your gonna be playing on the heads you purchase so get whats your ears say's sounds good to you.(and smile) |
