It's not that your tuning it wrong (the star shape and all) i think you're just aiming to high or low which creates a buzzing. an easy and cheap way to prevent this is to buy some E-rings. they are made by evens and you just place them on and it improves the tune and reduces or eliminates buzzing completely.
