Hey I have never drummed before, but I have wanted to pick up drumming for a long time. I have enough patience to learn it but I live in an apartment so I can't have an acoustic set. I know a drummer who told me I shouldn't get an electric set for under $1,000. I was trying to keep it under $600, is it really worth it to go for the more expensive set for a beginner? What would the difference be? Also can you recommend what set I should look for? I come from a technical background so I am used to picking out TVs, computers, etc; is there any features/specs I need to look for or is it more about the brand?
