Snare suggestions
I have a Yamaha Stage Custom wood 5.5x14 snare with my kit. I love the 8" deep wood snare. I've also been away from playng for about 20 years. What I want is a nice punch, with a slight high pitch, a bit of a ring with a warm deep tone. I would imagine to keep it warm, metals are out. Anyone have a suggestion on a less expensive snare that offers these sound qualities? Thanks
Oh, and btw, responsive enough for some ghost strokes etc. My 5.5 always has the same sound, no matter how hard or soft you hit it. |
