Most of my fav. drummers are more from a musical background rather than clinical, so the snare sound is unfortunatley, usually sacrificed for the good of the tune.
Ilove David Silvera's snare. Maple (I assume) "14 by something thin. It had this enormous crack when rimmed or flammed, but the best funky sound too.
