Hey, Church drummer thank You for your reply. The kit is 6-ply American rock maple, and I have talked to guy @ Pro Drum Shop in L.A. Ca. and he was saying that it with the technology of drum makers these days that the whole Maple vs. birch thing is not an issue as long as you are going with a well-known maker. I am still going to keep looking and I will let you know what happens.
