Don't get sucked into the more is better philosophy.
If you can get away with less drums you will save yourself in the future.
Think about it... every time you add a drum you gain two new heads to purchase. That can drive the cost of head replacements up rather quickly.
If you can find a quality four or five piece kit... four piece kits are rare to find... stick with that. I have a Pacific 602 pedal which is nice for starting on. For cymbals stick with the packs that stores offer... you will get a better deal... Oh and don't be afraid to buy used cymbals. I bought many a cymbal for 1/3 of the price simply because it was used.
