Right on! I have been teaching for the last five years and have never told any of my students that they suck. I would be out of a job in 30 seconds flat if I did. I also tell them to be sure to keep their feet on the ground and to keep working at every area of their playing to improve. They know I won't lie to them and if they ask "was I in time with the cd?" and they weren't I will tell them, however it will be phrased constructivly and in a way for them to gain a better insight into how they can improve not in a negative way which would be in essence bullying.
