Re: my mom kicked me out of my own band?

I'm Guss's mom. It seems like your mom knows what is best for you but can you understand where she is coming from? Unless she seems off mark most of all of the time and doesn't keep up with where you are at, my advice is to listen to what she says. Then keep talking together to find a common path together that feels right to both of you.
She knows you longer and better than anyone else so it is worth it to listen to her. But it is important that you bring her along to understand the music you like and why.
Me and Gus share classic rock for example. If I am correct to what genre you play, it is defintly not classic rock. But that doesn't mean you two can't connect by tellling your mom how your music relieves stress for you and there are worse and violent ways to get stress out than your music.
Rock on!

Guss's explaination: If there is hardcore involved (genre music for those who don't know) it is all about the message. Try to get your mom to listen and appreciate it. My mom related to Drop Anchor which is my favorite Boston hardcore band. On the internet she was able to read the lyrics from Myspace before she listened to the music. It worked. She appreciated it. Also check out Atfault's lyrics Skinslappers band (Liberal messages, hopefully you and your mom agree).
