Re: Bass Drum Muffling Like others have said, that clicky, punch heard on recordings is mainly acheived through micing and mixing techniques. As for myself I am definately an advocate of NO EXTRA MUFFLING in my bass drum. I personally have found that with good tuning techniques and a good head, you can get a deep punchy sound out of your bass drum. I use an Aquarian Superkick II which already has a pretty hefty muffling ring built into it and I love the punch I get out of my bass drum. |
