Ludwig 12x17
I recently bought a second hand 12 x17 Ludwig Drum dated 1964. I use it as a floor tom, but I'm curious about the size. It wasn't originally a marching snare because there is no strainer or evidence of one taken off. It strikes me as being too large to be a marching tom. Maybe a marching bass? Anyway, any thoughts? As a side note, because of it's odd size there was no replacement drum head easily available, but I ordered a 17" Coated Pinstripe from Remo and they actually came thru with it. That's pretty good customer service.
