The Remo Pinstripes are what I think Slingerland was referring to, and yes, they have less overtone, less stick attack and a more full warm sound to them that will bring out the sound of those maple shells. I like them best for Toms only. They are most appropriate for Rock or harder hitters--and they last a long time.

They come in clear or ebony-the ebonies have a even drier tone with much more ring control inherent in the head design--and they look totally cool...

For snare I lean towards a Aquarian or Evans head with sound control built in. For the kick I also prefer Evans E-Mad or Aquarian sound control...
