Re: Help w/ premier 2000 snare tensioning Quote:

So I figured they might be a little stretched out, so I ordered the 19 strand Puresound replacement snares, and have the same problem. I have tightened the two screws holding the snares on each end of the throwoff as tight as I can, which is probably the wrong thing to do. When I was younger I would have taken the whole thing apart to figur it out, and probably !*#@ed it up completely. Yes, the snares were buzzy when I got it, but I didn't bother with any diagnostics, as I just wanted to get the heads changed. Anyone with any ideas about what might be wrong, or what I've done wrong, I would greatly appreciate it. rr | Not overly familar with this type of snare but a common mistake made by drummers is when fitting a snare wire - they forget to loosen up the snare tension arm on the side of the drum - so drop the snare arm, loosen the tension as much as possilble - then fit the snare wire as tight as you can and reclip the arm up and tighten as much as possible - this will give you over an inch of additional tension on the snare - hope this helps / Phil.
