Re: evans hydraulics, who has played 'em?
I played a set of clear Ludwig vistalites for a number of years. I used the Evans hydraulic glass on top and bottom of the toms. They sounded great on this kit. They took out the overtones and left a great sounding tone with no other dampening needed. I now have a maple kit that I use coated on top and clear on the bottom and a mahogany kit that I use coated on top and bottom ( old school sound). The hydraulics work well depending on the application and the sound that you want. |
