Now is a good time to pick the technique you want to use down the road. Look at all the different choices and pick one and stay with it. For instance I learned to play with my right hand on the hats and left on the snare. I now want to play open. It is much harder to switch techniques once youve learned one. so pick the one you want and go with it.
