First off, welcome to the world of drumming and welcome to the site.

I started playing about 40 years ago, so you'd think I know nothing about starting out.

In January of 2008 I suffered a stroke. In May of the same year I suffered a second stroke. I had to relearn a lot more than just how to play the drums.

After two years, I now feel like a drummer again.

Go slow and work on smoothness and time. It will pay dividends in the rest of what you learn.
