tuning by ear is great, but i found that once i got a tension watch i became alot more picky about how i tune.
i used to spend about 20-30 per drum tuning by ear. now i take 5 minutes to vaguely tune each drum, then about 15-20 minutes using the tension watch and adjusting what i want to by ear. |
