I'd say if you have anything else that needs upgrading on you kit do that first. A rack would be awesome for my kit but there are plenty of things that I should upgrade (mostly cymbals) before I get a rack. I would also recommend you buy one, the companies that make drum hardware know what they are doing and they're racks are meant to last a long time and work great. I'd say only make your own if you are a professional fabricator. Just my take on this. |
