I wanted to start a thread about this but maybe ill get some feedback. Ive purchased a Zildjian cymbal for the last time. I fell in love with the sound of the 21'' special dry ride (K) this is from youtube listening. I get the cymbal from a large New York drum shop and its nothing like any of the many ive heard from mp3 recordings. its way to trashy, not near as clean as what ive been listening to.

I know i can sell this so i ordered a 21'' Paiste mark1 dark energy and this cymbal sounds near identical to what ive heard on youtube, it sounds like i WANTED the special dry cymbal to sound. The Paiste is beautiful sounding and im ecstatic. I went through this same thing with the purchase of some zildjian A-customs. What is it with me that im always disappointed with anything zildjian. Are my ears simply tuned to Paiste and i cant accept anything less?. My latest regret is the purchase of my 21'' zildjian K series special dry ride.
