Re: Which Drum Set Should I Get?? I suggest that the best buy, the best-sounding kit, and the kit you should get are all the same, since the kit that sounds best to you will also be the best buy in the long run and the kit you should get.
There is no substitute for actually playing the kits, and listening to the kits being played. That's how you find out what sounds best to you.
For my money, Gretsch is a quality company and the shells are maple -- two big convincers for me. But you've got to play them, or at least her them being played.
