I can highly recommend tennis grip. I've been putting it on sticks for years. Feels great, no blisters, and even draws sweat away.
I've now settled on the Vic firth John dolmayan signature stick. I feel a bit like a hack buying signature sticks, especially when I'm a huge fan of the drummer, but I've been through a tonne of different sticks lately and these are the only ones that feel good and don't dent my heads.
