Hey all,
Did a gig with a band yesterday and threw my Zoom Q3 up to record some of it. This was a reunion of sorts since I hadn't played with this guitarist in almost 15 years. I just met the bass player yesterday too, great guy - he played for Disney too going on the road playing for the High School Musical tour (I used to play for Disney, now I'm an audio engineer for the DL Resort full time). I don't know what it is, but when I play with this guitar player, some kind of mental telepathy takes over because all day we just kinda' knew what was happening and where to go with the songs. We were just calling out songs we knew and going for it, with only one clunker for the whole 4 hours we were there (we thought we knew Neil Young's "Cinnamon Girl", but realized into the first verse we didn't, so we went somewhere else - that would have been a cool thing to video!).
Anyway, please give this one a listen and let me know what you think. I play very differently with a band than I do alone in the practice room. Please leave some comments good or bad if you like. I wish I had recorded more, and God this makes me wish I was in a regular band again!
EDIT: Here's another one of the end of the party song. One of the revelers, George, was brave enough to pull out his congas and sit in with the band. He's set up just outside of the camera shot. This tune sounded way better afterwards than it did while I was playing it!
