Reasons why people don't play double bass

So, if people can play with two feet instead of just one, why don't they? What's keeping people from playing double bass? (Myself included) Here's a list of reasons why people don't play double bass and stick to single bass.

1. Can't afford it
2. Takes up too much space (not necessarily true)
3. Don't think they are ready for it yet
4. Their style of music doesn't call for it
5. Don't know what it even is

I think double bass is an important part of drum set playing that every drummer should try and get comfortable with. Even if their style of music doesn't call for it I think it's a good thing to have in a drummer's arsenal of skills. It's a good investment moneywise and you can never get in on double bass drumming too early. Any thoughts?
