I'm a lefty but play on a "right-hand" set up.

Sometimes I play open-handed.
Sometimes I lead with my left foot.


When I was a kid learning drums (and jamming with everyone I could play with) all of the drum sets were already set up for "right-ies" so I learned "right-y".
And thankfully so because when I attend a show and I'm asked to come up and sit-in for a few songs it's ONLY right-handed set ups to work with. ...and I've gotten plenty of work this way so imagine if I was pigeon-holed to a left-hand set and had to constantly turn down opportunities to spontaneously "do-work."
Right-handed has been more lucrative for me.
