Trick, and save a couple bucks of the money for future purchases. I purchased mine off ebay and it works like new. Only problem I had was that my slave beater connection fell off, though I was able to fix that easily with out modifying or buying a new part. And If you have a heavy foot, like a friend of mine does you might need to adjust it a bit. Though If GWAR's drummer can use one with out a problem its most likely just my personal setting.
