Hi-Hat experiment.

The bassist in my band Abraxas, asked me what would hapen if I put a top hi hat cymbal on top of another (upside down) and played it like that. So I flipped my spare top hi-hat cymbal over, and replaced the bottom one, and started playing. It get's a different sound. If you have an extra stand, and some spares, try adding it to your set, you can get some interesting clap noises, and alot of different tones with that, which can be used very inventively in soloing. Hitting it outright can sound trashy, but experimenting with it, you can get some good sounds.
