malletjazz is on a distinguished road
No secondary rides in my current setup (not counting the 17" Paiste Dark Energy crash that is borderline rideable, for quiet passages at least). However, in the past, I've added either a flat ride or a swish cymbal, and in either case they'd be on the right side.

(For the young'uns among us, a "swish" cymbal is a larger china cymbal, often with rivets, mounted "bell up." Fairly common for big band work, and a great ride sound, especially behind the sax soli in a big band chart.)

When/if I put together or pick up a "bop" kit, I'll probably track down a thin 20" ride (or something along those lines) for use as a "left side ride" - one ride on the right, one ride on the left.
