Its hard to explain really (Dravenhurst, help me out!) But theres something that the random machine hammering (Zildjian says hand hammering...no hands involved though) adds that just blows away the A's. The K's just sound full. By multidimensional I mean this: When you hit a K, you get the initial attack, then the overtones, and it fades out. Alot happens, and the hammering style adds a complexity to the cymbal.

With A's, you have a uniform hammering, so you get a uniform sound you know? But because K's have that random hammering, it adds alot to the cymbal. Hence, multidimensional sound.
