| Joey signature snare is a 13" right? Unfortunately being that little bit smaller and cast aluminium I think will reduce your crack a bit. Joey's sound is a bit more high pitched punch.
I've been using evans power centre (which is used by Danny Carey) and it's been great, but I think you might be right on the money with the ST.
And If you're realy trying to cut that ring down, I'd definately consider getting a dicast hoop for the batter side. This will give you much more control with tuning as they don't flex as much between the lugs. |
