| If you have taken the time to warm up properly & if you are playing correctly,
you should be totally relaxed. No matter what kind of music you are playing.
For example; hitting the snare from over your head should be just for show & tell. You can get the same volume without lifting your arm over 4 inches. Their is a long roll exercise that starts out extremely slow. The purpose is to start with the muscles in your back. As the tempo gradually picks up, you work your way down to your fingertips. Sometimes called the Moeller Method, it really works. Check it out. You will be a much better drummer. |
