its hard to argue that one...really...but you have to consider some of the crop of new progressive monsters like Rabb,Jarzombek,Mayer.Playing has evolved.There are polyrythmic passages by Thomas Lang that these guys could never duplicate just because of the resrictions in thier equiptment.The drumset has evolved.I have never seen anyone utilize Moeller technique like Johnny Rabb.Drumming has evolved.Here is a great example of this.And this is a couple years old.Just one of my favs.Check out all the gadgets he puts on his snare to achieve different sounds.
