Looking to upgrade my cymbals

I'm looking to upgrade my cymbals. Right now i have a mixture of Sabian B8's, zildjian zht's and zbt's. Could anyone tell me whats the next step up from the models i've listed. I play jazz, funk ,r&b. I don't want to spend a mint, but i do want better sounding cymbals. I'm open to any brand. Do you have any suggestions?

Sabian XS20 is your best bet if you're on a budget, they're actually pretty nice! But I find Sabian AA and AAX are usually a little cheaper than most other brands' competing cymbals.

I personally love the Zildjian K series. But they are a lil pricy. Sabian As and AAs are very good to.

You should get Zildjian A Series cymbals...here's actually a pack that isn't half bad as far as price goes:

Buy Zildjian A Series Holiday Pack with 21" Sweet Ride | Cymbal Packs | Musician's Friend

Just a suggestion(:

Re: Looking to upgrade my cymbals

I need to post a disclaimer here first. My company is the US distributor for Silken Cymbals. That being said and you said you were open to any brand why don't you take a look at Silken Cymbals ? These are absolutely the best Chinese made cymbals on the market. They are easily on par with their western counterparts but much cheaper. Your Cymbal budget will get you alot more quality bronze for your money with Silken. These are cast B20 cymbals that are completely handmade. My companies tagline is " Home of the Other Name brands" Silken is the kind of product we specialize in. Our You TUbe page has probably 30 Silken video's shot in Hi-Def with digital audio. The digital sound reproduces the actual sound of the cymbal almost exactly. If you like what you hear on YT you'll love it when it get's to your home. You should at least go take a look & listen to the Video's. These are excellent quality Cymbals that are very reasonably priced I oughtta know I set the retail prices for Silkens in the US market. Good Luck T

I would also say sabian XS20's for best price vs sound. They make them in a brilliant finish now and from watching some youtube videos they sound and look very nice. If you want to go with high end cymbals I would recommend either sabian AAX or HHX, you will be blown away by how good they sound.
