What would fit my B8 crash?

Hey forum!
I have this B8 16 thin crash(which I really like, no matter what anyone says). It's really good for an entry level priced cymbal. I also have a Sabian AA 14" thin crash, which somehow goes nicely with it.
I recently got an AA 18" medium crash, and honestly I don't really like it. It's too washy(or splashy), whereas the B8 has a nice clean sound. I'm looking to replace the 18", but I don't know where to start looking... should I go to the dark side(HH, HHX), or should I look at Zildjian or Paiste?? I don't really want to spend much on it, and I suspect I could get maybe $150 for it on Kijiji.
I want a cleaner, slightly darker sound, but not really dark. Just enough to be a lower note than the 16" thin crash. Can anyone help me out??

drumnOOb,

What I would suggest you do is take the B8 with you to your local music shop(s) and try hitting both your B8 and everything else in the store until you find exactly what you are looking for. Brand and make doesn't really make any difference because in the end it is your ear that must make the decision.

Re: What would fit my B8 crash?

I was thinking that, but I want to narrow it down first.
And also I've noticed that the acoustics of the cymbal room at the store and my basement are VERY different! It's really hard to get how they actually sound, even in person. I've actually done that before, but with my hi hats, and it's weird how different they sound!
Thanks for the suggestion!

16'' to 18'' is a tough range to calibrate if you're not getting similar makes/series.
My Paiste Alpha 18'' Medium crash is full, has a good cut too it with a medium sustain, and a nice dark sound. It's not too glassy either. But I don't know how it would sound next too a B8 thin. So the bet is too look at similar models like thin B8 bronze models models, and see what other companies have to offer. Youtube can be a strong resource too.
Good Look on you shopping man.

Thanks
I guess it doesn't have to be 18", but I don't really want a fast crash. I want something a little slower, that builds up a little, like an 18" usually does.
