this is my first post
i just cracked my 18" pearl crash/ride, which i had for 2 years. and now im wanting to re-use it again. i have heard about drilling near the crack or whatever, but im wanting to make an effect cymbal out of it.
i have seen some people drill holes around the cymbal and put rivets in it.
what else can you do to an old cymbal to make it have a new sound?

What kind of crack is it? Does it move along the lathing or is it going towards the bell?

You should put some jingles on it to make it sizzle and drill some holes into it to drop the sustain and ring out.

the crack goes towards the bell
theres 2 cracks, one thats about 1 cm and the other is 3 mm.
all around the edge of the cymbal its kind of bent aswell
